Motion Analysis Inc. was started in 1984 as an instrumentation oriented company specializing in high-speed video analysis. Marshall Johnson founded the company after a lifelong interest in applied photography and the sciences plus a 15 year industrial background in factory automation. The early days were mostly on-site consulting services using highly specialized equipment for process and machine fault diagnosis. From these experiences it became clear that a new field, which we now refer to as "machine vision", was on the horizon and we were uniquely suited to be a part of it.
