| Derecktor Shipyards was founded by Bob Derecktor in 1947 under the name of Robert E. Derecktor, Inc. It began as a yacht building and repair facility in Mamaroneck, New York, and soon after, the yard began diversifying into the construction of commercial craft and started building in aluminum construction. Through the years, Derecktor developed the techniques and building methods required for aluminum boat construction, setting today?s high standards. Although technology has increased efficiency and facilities have grown, the passion for boatbuilding has not changed since those early days and Paul Derecktor, Bob?s son, now spearheads the company and overseas each project with the same intensity as his father.
Advanced engineering coupled with the high level of craftsmanship of its work-force, consisting of a solid core of highly skilled and dedicated individuals, thrust Derecktor Shipyards to the forefront of the high-tech aluminum ship-building industry: a position that Derecktor has maintained for over fifty years through hard work and constant innovation.
