| The Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory is the oldest continually operating manned weather Observatory in North America. It opened in 1885 and has had 4 operators. The Blue Hill Observatory Science Center is a private non-profit organization that ook over Observatory operations in 1999. The Science Center maintains Observing responsibilites and offers educational programs and opportunities for individuals and groups for ages 5 through adults.
The Blue Hill Observatory publications include books on The 1938 Hurricane, Hurricane Carol, the 1927 flood and other books and pamphlets on many weather events and subjects. |
