Company Description:
The Phillips Electric Company, Inc. was founded in 1946 as an electrical contracting and engineering company. As the business expanded into repair services, Redmond Electric was acquired in 1949 and then combined with the Waltz Electric Company in 1953, to form the Redmond Waltz Division. Satisfied customers include ISG, Cleveland Public Schools, NASA, FORD, Cleveland State University, ALCOA, CWRU, Ashland Chemical, SIFCO, Park Ohio Industries, General Motors, and DuPont. Other achievements include: In 2002 we were awarded the DuPont contract for developing the Segmented Induction Motor. This revolutionary electric motor is under design and development by the Special Projects division. The Shared Spares Website (www.sharedspares.com) was developed for Ford Motor Company to track the nationwide inventories of motors, clutches, and press parts for all of their stamping plants. These online real time databases allows each plant, as well as their vendors, secure access to equipment inventories, order status, and in plant resources. At the Gorge Dam, a real-time Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer system was designed, programmed, and installed for Universal Electric Power. This Internet based control system has been used as the design basis for all UEP hydro plants throughout the world. The removal, upgrade and re-installation of four 82 MVA (221,000 lbs. each) transformers for the 10 x 10 wind tunnel at NASA GRC. This $8.8 million project included all project management, logistics (transport across Hopkins Airport and rail to GE), engineering, electrical work, and testing. At Bell of Pennsylvania?s new $200 million Corporate computer center, the integration of building security, environmental control and utility power analysis was accomplished by a custom software solution. Since 2001, Ashland Chemical has relied on us to provide all automation design, programming, and installation services for the Cleveland area facilities. These systems include the BAM/Bulk Transport System, the Dense Phase Conveying System, and the Liquid Dispensing System. Each of these are fully automated, computer controlled process systems. FAA Accessory Repair Station OU5R106N Since April of 1988, we have had a certified quality program in place. In addition, each customer has certified our procedures after an on site audit. UL Approval for Rebuilt Motors, File E128047 In October 1989, we were certified to use the listing mark when rebuilding motors and generators manufactured for use in hazardous locations. RELIANCE Electric Approved Repair Facility Since May of 1998, we have been an authorized repair facility. After a nationwide survey of over 60 facilities, we were one of only three that met Rockwell Automation standards for the repair of electric apparatus. ISO 9001:2000& QS-9000 TE ? Cert. 2001-038 The most recent ISO certification audit was passed in August 2003 and the facility was recognized as QS9000 TE compliant, the qualification that includes all automotive specifications for FORD, Daimler-Chrysler, and General Motors. Thermalife 200 U.S. Trademark 2,160,730 In 1998, this proprietary Class 200 Insulation System was registered for commercial use. GM immediately adopted it as the standard for all motor repair applications. And, in 2002, Thermalife 220 was introduced to the U.S. Department of Defense as the most advanced motor insulation system in the world.
