| The Tri-Chord Stud and Truss System were designed to minimize thermal bridging and contains 66-68% post-consumer recycled content. In profile, the studs and trusses have triangular sections at each edge and discrete webs spanning the wall cavity, instead of a solid heat-conducting steel web.
Tri-Chord manufacturers the most thermally efficient steel framing components available today. Tri-Chord studs have the highest thermal, seismic, acoustic and fire ratings of all steel framing and will meet the thermal transference of wood. Tri-Chord EESI Thermal Steel Studs are structural and will carry up to 5,170 lbs. per stud. 1 Hour Fire Rated on load bearing interior and exterior walls, STC & OITC Sound Rated, ICC validated (ESR 1158) We also manufacture floor trusses (CRS) that can span great distances due to the strength of our triangular profile.
